KCRW / WHICH WAY, L.A.? - Shriver
Steps Up in Santa Monica (audio interview)
Santa Monica’s new city councilman is John Kennedy’s nephew,
Maria Shriver’s brother, and Arnold Schwarzenegger’s brother-in-law.
Tonight, we’ll ask Bobby Shriver if he wants to make change
in what used to be called The People’s Republic of Santa Monica.
Campaign contributions alone would establish him as a celebrity politician:
they came from Warren Beatty, Annette Benning, Robert De Niro, Mel Brooks,
and a lot of other Hollywood types. But, it’s the name that makes
all the difference. Now, he’s the Santa Monica City Councilman
who got the most votes in this week’s election.
